Greystone Manor opened the doors in September 1984. We were constructed and financed under the laws of Section 202 of the National Housing Act and we are regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
The owner of Greystone Manor is Greystone Manor, Inc., a non-profit, non-stock corporation formed to sponsor and provide low and moderate income housing to eligible applicants.
Our property sits on 4.8 acres on Hail Knob Road adjacent to the EMS building and lots of medical offices and the hospital one street over.
Our eligibility criteria are that an applicant must be at least 62 years of age and meets the income guidelines of the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. We have five handicapped units and the eligibility of the applicant must demand the features of these units, leasing begins with head of household being age 18 or older.
Our social services for our residents include specialty parties, monthly dinners, bingo games, gospel singings, widow-to-widow group meetings, blood pressure checks and lots of others. The staff prepares monthly newsletters with needed information and a calendar listing our activities for that month.
